I just heard that Westminster (formerly Adams 50) Public School’s superintendent Pamela Swanson has been picked as the 2020 Superintendent of the Year by the Colorado Association of School Executives. Congrats! It’s wonderful to see Swanson (and her team’s) leadership recognized. They’ve been working at developing a personalized, competency-based system for a decade with multiple barriers thrown at them through state policy. The school board also deserves recognition for their steady leadership.
Hopefully more district and school leaders that are modernizing their schools will be recognized by education organizations.
